Well.....the downstairs Man Cave now has tile in it! Woohoo! Dear Husband will soon have the rec room of his dreams that he so deserves!!! I will add a picture of it later as I have to mop the grout residue off of the floor first. So....we now need to get it painted and then get all of our furniture in it so that we can use it! I guess we could use it before, (as my husband kindly stated) but, I am a bit of a perfectionist and I REALLY needed the room to be 80% complete in order to feel comfortable in there. I need to walk through it in order to get to our laundry room so it was really bugging me to not have it finished. Also, I found that I really wasn't bothering to clean it much since things weren't "in order" so all of the hair left behind by my furry canine sons was getting a little out of control to say the least! (I tend to avoid cluttered, messy areas as they give me claustrophobia and slight panic attacks...I guess this is why I put off cleaning Miss Tish's room till absolutely necessary...)
We used the same Interceramic brand tile that we used to complete our upstairs hallway back in February of this year. The color is called Corinthian and it's found in their Flag Stone line. It is a wonderful ceramic tile and we have been so happy with the quality! The previous owners had carpet going down the narrow hallway and I didn't like how it broke up the flow of the home. I felt that the length of the hallway was being visually compromised with the use of the carpet. Also, trying to keep that cream-colored carpet clean would have been a nightmare! Did I fail to mention that the home that we just bought was built in 1990, and I had the distinct pleasure of trying to match the tile that they placed in the foyer and kitchen with a new tile in the hallway? I was determined to find a match for that 20-year-old tile and no other options would satisfy me. Can you tell that I'm a bit of a pit bull? Ya....love me or leave me I guess! Anyway, I was unsuccessful in the search until I found Interceramic! In our previous home, we had carpeting everywhere and would begrudgingly vacuum 20 times a day and still not have the floors as clean as I like them. This tile is so easy to clean and makes our daily living with two kids and two dogs so much more enjoyable! I can keep the dog hair and dirt at bay with just a few broom sweeps a day and one mopping a week! Lovin the low maintenance! O.K.... on with my mopping!
Side Note: Thank you God for Ed and Tony our contractors. Amen
A challenge plays!
